Wouldn't It be cool to do blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah blah You are crazy if you don't do it. Blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah. Don't you get tired of hearing all the hype? If your traditional and interactive media is not solving a problem... it is probably creating a new one. It seems as if everyone is rushing toward interactive media seeing it as a replacement for their traditional media marketing campaigns. They see it as the panacea. They see it as the answer to all their problems. Interactive media is not a panacea, it is a tool. It is a tool to add to your traditional marketing plan and make your company's brand even stronger. The interactive media tool must be used with conviction and be goal oriented. But, not just any goal; your goal for interactive media must work closely with your business and marketing plan. If your goal is to just produce a company web site, make a CD-ROM that contains pictures of all your products or produce a company intranet or extranet, you probably will not have too much of a problem meeting that goal. But, if you build these without carefully considering a plan that will leverage interactive media in an encompassing marketing and media strategy, you will be seriously underestimating the power of it's persuasion. When you consider interactive media in your arsenal, you must not lose sight of your goal. Your goal will determine the outcome of the project. You have to make the three areas of interactive media work for you to establish your goal. Technology, Marketing and Design have to be given equal footing in the interactive design process to develop an interactive media strategy that will work well with the traditional media. If each of these areas are given careful consideration, the end user experience and your brand will be optimized.
